it is when you're 19 and desperate for a six pot. A lot of people over 21 (getting on for 30!!) are paying a grand and over for a 325! Look around the insurance posts and you'll see how people are being ripped off!!

that price is not bad, however i have to say that if you want a convertible, then you will have to pay circa Ԛ£3k +

and at those prices, TPFT aint an option with the insurance-fully comp all the way..... or a classic policy that may not get you NCB accruing??

yeah dude, I know the situation, I payed 4k+ for my current convertible and so far I've had fully comp. However I never intend to claim on it as i'd rather write off a 3/4k car and keep my insurance premiums down, otherwise I'll be paying the price for years to come - paying Ԛ£800 for a 318i when I'm 25!! I don't fancy that!!

So if I'm never going to claim on a policy, I don't see much point, given the price difference now, about Ԛ£400 (with my current policy fully comp is cheaper than TPFT!) in having fully comp. insurance. I dunno, am I missing something??

I want a 325i but with petrol prices going silly at the moment, i think its wise to stick with a 318.

The 325i Touring was 350GBP TPFT for me (25 - 5 years no claims). Which is not bad. Although my E46 320 is killing me at 550 full comp! Although my old insurance want 888 renewal which they would budge on - oh well their loss.

Back in the day when I got my first car (a 1.4 Honda Civic 3 door) the insurance cost me 1400 in the first year, and I was 20 at the time.

Two years ago my first car cost me Ԛ£300 to insure. And I did earn claims free even though it was a classic policy. So I'm kinda peeved of that this insurance malarky is soo damned expensive. I'd have more money to spend on the car otherwise.

Ԛ£700 on a 325i cabby at 19 is pretty damn good. Nice one. 8)
I was quoted Ԛ£650 on an E plate XR3i and Im 24 with 6yrs NCB - now thats a joke. Its cheaper for me to insure my BM with the engine conversion 8O

Adrian Flux, it was hard work beating that quote out of them mind, they originally wanted Ԛ£765, but after much searching got some lower quotes, got back to them and they bettered it, I've also been with them for 6 years now, one thing though, I don't know what theyre "in the event of a claim" service is like though....
