This is probably an easy one. just need to know which sensor operates the LED in the check computer? If my car is parking uphill it always comes on, on startup. If the car is level or facing downhill it doesn't come on. Its only the one on the check computer not the one in the dash. Any idea's?

I think it's the one behind and below the alternator.
Sits in the side bulge in the sump.

In post facelift cars it's actually two sensors in one housing.
One for static oil level ansd one for dynamic oil level.
Sounds to me like the sensor's just doing its job. Have a look at the dipstick when its parked uphill.
P.S. If you do remove the sensor, then do it with the car a little uphill at the front. The oil level in the sump is fairly close to the level of the sensor hole.

mine is a pre facelift car, but even when an oil change had been done it still came on when parked up hill. That shouldn't be right coz it probably had more oil in than recomended at that point. So are we saying the dash oil light and check computer oil light are fed by the same or different sensors?

One each side.
One in the bulge and the other below the oil filter (well to the left a bit)

Dash oil light is for oil pressure, whereas check control oil light is for amount of oil in the sump. Two completely different things, from two different sensors.DaZMaN wrote: So are we saying the dash oil light and check computer oil light are fed by the same or different sensors?
