They were folding them!!!
They went the trouble of milling the slot and then they couldn't swap to a 28mm slot drill do the main slot?
Whats so difficult about getting a 12 and 28mm slot drill and running them along a flat bar:D
I don't like being fussy either but they can only be done by milling, the shoulders of the folded ones would just bend straight back down upon welding

The slots are lazer cut Dave, its a case of what is cheapest it would seem, there is less waste with folding so they obviously thought they were onto a winner

Ahh, didn't realise that when looking at them first
Ok, slot drills are pricey and a 28mm is kind of an odd size but they'd have the cost of one made back in one set, Only need to take 2.5mm or so off the plate anyway as only the washers sit in the slot and hex stays outside making adjusting with a spanner easy etc

Looking at a drawing Ian posted they should be made out of 8mm flat and milled down to 2.5

Have thought about getting one of our suppliers to quote for the tabs but have already paid for these and I find it hard to believe they will be easy to get a refund out of

I'm not sure exactly what the cut off time for making a claim is though.

They are going to have to make up another batch since they did them wrong... while blaming Jhonno for bad drawings
I'm making my own up tomoro
If I get a few sets made for the few cars we need them for and the ones in the group buy turn out fine eventually, I'll just let Dan keep mine to sell on or if not keep the money if he gets a refund as I owe him money for a few S50 bits anyway

Dave, I will have a price for correct ones in the morning. They will be cheaper guaranteed!
Bad drawings is bullshite, Dan showed them a picture of one welded to the rear beam, same as in this thread I believe, so what excuse do they have?

Hi guys, sorry, been busy with S50's, E30's and a new job..
I've given them a little time after speaking to them last in order to redo these tabs, just my issue is getting hold of them during the day atm as I am at work now.
I am gutted about how this has turned out tbh, I've spent a lot of my time and also money on fuel, going to see them and trying to chase it up for everyone
I will try and get someone to speak to them for me tomorrow and let you guys know again
I haven't disappeared, and am still keeping on this for those involved

I made a set up today since a mate needs a set as he's off work all next week so getting his track car together.
Must make up a set for myself now tomoro
Bloody time comsuming when you have to mill them manually with a few passes and measuring since I only had a 20mm slot drill since the 28mm one I ordered isn't in yet

So whats the script with this? They fuckd up and we have to swallow a £60 odd quid loss which we cant claim back through paypal cause they drag their heals till the paypal dispute limit has past!
You would think in the current climate that shops like this would be making the effort to get repeat business from folk, and not be a shower of c*nts

Am I the only one pissed off with this total shambles of a group buy? Or is everyone else who paid for these flush with cash that they are happy to spunk it down the drain?

Nope, it's pretty infuriating! Problem is, i'm not sure what can be done.
If we could have an update on the score through Jhonno, it would be good...a lot of people are out of pocket!

I'm sure Dan has done his best, he managed to get a few sets out to folk but it does annoy me when companies screw people around, especially when they don't have the decency to update you on the situation.

Response from them today -Hi ordered and paid for a set of these from you back in January as part of a group buy/multiple order, just wondered if your going to make these correctly and get them sent out any time soon? Or if your planing on refunding my money to the sum of £62.55. Any news on these would be appreciated.
Cheers
Garry
So well see if this is true soon, hopefully.Hi, please excuse the delay. A lot of confusion over design. They are now being shipped.

I have rung them again...
Again a fuck up in communication it seems..
They will be doing them properly however, said before I know, not a lot else I can do, but I will chase them hard to get them done now so this can be drawn to a close

Well I have finished mine ya!
But how I did it?
Got a diagram off Ian325sport from here on a friday, gave the diagram to a local engineering firm on monday. Recived 16 brackets on thursday. Made exactly the same as the ones being sold here (2.5mm sheet laser cut and bent at both ends)! That was hard
I have fitted them and tbh they are not as nice as ones made from 8mm milled plate. They need a load of filing in the corners to get the bolts to fit nicely (because the bend radius interfeers). But its not too bad
I had to do this as i had strippefd my subframe off and couldnt wait.
TBH i think we have all been messed about so much i think am entitled to get my money back. Its been so long its just silly.
P.S If you are going to run a group buy it would be good if you used a computer more than once a month so people can no whats going on!

info@ttvracing.com This is the email address that I mailed the first time.
alan.crisp@20-20vision.com This is the address he responded on
I've also sent off a couple of e-mails but had no response since the one I posted up
Does anyone have the original designs or drawings presented to the company? Please send them to me as I need to see what was so hard about the design to replicate. I also want proof that it was not the designs/drawing's fault that caused the "confusion" for the engineering firm.

Yeah I've got a set from Danthe in front of me now, quite a basic set-up in all regards, just wondered what the company received which was confusing for them.
