I have fitted a Sparco FIA cage recently (with doorbars) which seemed the best compromise between cost and fit....

OMP cages have been reported to be 'difficult' to fit, and Safety Devices are very good (and British!) but were substantially more expensive than than the £455 I paid for mine.

Hi there,

Just fitted a Safety Devices 6 point cage to my 2 door 325. It was pricey, but also pretty easy to fit as well - nothing needed messing with or changing - worth the effort for sure. Got mine from Automac (www.automac.co.uk).

If you are doing a trackday car, then I would try and get a cage with a diagonal and harness bars if at all possible - better rigidity and correct harness angles etc etc - depends on what you want - there's a cage out there for you!

Good luck with the project! 8)
Cheers,

Whoooops! Didn't realise I would be 'pinged' for dropping in a supplier name... Rest assured I don't work for that company or endorse their products... Just bought a cage from them.

I have a Safety Devices 18 point bolt in. It comes with harness bars and door bars inclusive.

The cage also triangulates to the rear suspension mounts, thereby removing the need for a rear strut brace. It also has fitments to add a front triangulation kit to stiffen up the front towers.

The downside is that you need to cut into the dashboard for the fitment, which makes it a bit harder
I paid about approximately £850 for everything a year ago for everything.

Let me know if you want photos or supplier details.

I've got the same cage, I only used 16 of the mounting points as I couldn't quite figure out the last 2. I've marked the 16 I used on the photo below. The other 2 were supposed to go on the front legs and bolt to the chassis about half way between the floor and the two points that go into the existing threaded hole in the front screen pillar.
Image
The circular mounting point (the other is obscured by the chair) shown near the bottom left has a long bolt that goes through the rear subframe bush, the other two at the very bottom go through the rear bulkhead and onto special brackets that sit on top of rear suspension turrets, shown below.

It also goes behind the dash.

No, this is the lesser known about B6. There is an upgrade kit for this too which goes through the bulkhead to the front suspension towers, about an extra £150.

I can see how you came up with the number now. I was only counting my main connections. If I add the smaller points as well I may end up with 50 points.... :D

The only additional main connection I have is the rear diff.
