I'm picking up a 27 6 EB at the end of the month and just wanted to ask is it safe/possible to transport it on its' side in the boot of my 320 or should I ask my Dad if I can use his old Astra Estate?!
Cheers
Jay

I expect you'll make a bit of a mess of your boot, even with liberal use of cardboard and polythene.
I've got a spare B20 and it's suprisingly heavy and unwieldy.
If you can strip manifolds and other removable bits it may be possible.

it will make a mess if it topples and oil and water leak out . and there is alwys something in these things,.
it wont hurt the engine. just the inside of your car
tarpauling and carboard everywhere and strap it down incase of emergancy stopping or swerving
i had a 5 sereis engine in my tourer boot . the pain is getting it in with damaging anything . with a crane you have the hight issue by hand you need 3 people and something to protect the boot bottom when you rest it on it whist you move your hands about
but if you can split it to head .and block life becomes far easyier .
use the astra i say . easy acess by hand or crane and strap it as upright as you can to stop leaks
