quick sunroof q?

I'm retro fitting and electric sunroof to my manual, motor is on and it moves backwards and forwrds fine except it stops i random places as the motor and roof position arent in sync.

i'm going to take the motor off with the roof closed i then just need to get the motor stopped in the correct place when i putit back on.

so question is where are the stops ie when you press the button it moves and then stops and wont move again until you release and presst he button again. i presume they are when the roof is fully shut, at the full tilt position. is there one at the fully open postion?

sorry if the working is a bit random, but it'd be nice if i can do it first time, i remember the motor had some markings on so i tmay be i take it off and rotate it to fully closed and that may be job done, just thought i'd ask about the stop positions, as mine are currently four inches after opening and a further four inches after that

if anyone has an electric sunroof can they just say where it stops when they operate it

Leave the motor in, but disengage the drive by loosening the large nut. Then use the switch to get the motor in the matching position to the roof.

from closed when you press back it will move back till it is completley open then stop.
pref forward from hear and it will go forward till it closes tite. pres forward agane and the back tillts up till it stops. press back and it will stop fulley closed.
