bonnet vents

right guy's & gals.

i don't know if this has been asked before but here goes.

after talking to a lad down the road who own's a s1 rst escort it got me thinking about fitting a set of s1 rst bonnet vent's in an attempt to help keep the engine in my sport at the right temp (it ain't over heating before you ask & i do have an electric fan mounted on the front of the radiator with thw standard viscous fan behind it).

when i say "fitting the vents" i don't mean just stuck on top of the bonnet but fitted flush near the front like on the saphire cossies.

any thought's anybody?

if you doing it then just get Bonnet louvres done ,no filler or welding needed

i've got chance to get a full genuine set of ford one's for about £20.

it's just a thought though.

just had a look & (now don't think ill of me for this) but some of those bonnet scoops look pretty good.

I wouldnt be putting RST one's on an e30, dont think they suit the lines.

very very ugly in my opinion,

I doubt they would make any real difference to running temp (seeing as the engine temp is controled by the thermostat anyway) escorts and the like had them to keep the turbo cooler not normally the engine.

a guy i know near wisbech who is heavly into his fast fords has donr this to his 400bhp 4wd saphire cossie & it does look pretty smart.

I'd go with the louvres!!!

They're cheaper than i thought they would be too!!!!!!!

Could always get a second E30 bonnet of someone here, put the RS vents in and see what it looks like.
If you don't want it, stick it for sale on here and on ebay!!!!
