skegness summer meet

now i don't know if this has been asked before (& i can't be arsed with searching) but i was thinking why don't some of the midlands & lincolnshire/south humberside zoners have a meet up at skegness in the summer??

just thinking aloud really out of boredom.

any way let me know what you think.

i mean not all of us can get down south for the meets & it could be a good time.

so have a think & let me know.

who would like it just to just be a one day evenso let's have a show of hands.

if it's a one day event (much easier to arrange) & we had a good turn out then (if possible) we could make it a regular thing in the summer.

I would suggest a Saturday lunchtime meet that can be extended overnight if people want to camp etc.We are too old to rough it in tents these days so would 'love you and leave you' when we have had enough!This would give scope for those who wish to make a night of it and allow for folk like us....So I would suggest a pub that serves decent grub or a campsite,with a bar,that allows 'day visitors'.The other 'unpredictable' is weather,we all know just how much sunshine Skeggy gets

if i can get a date sorted i might be able to sort out a place for those that wish to stay as i know of a pub down the road with a campsite (& very good food) & i'm sure i could have a word with them.

only problem is it's about 25miles from skeg but if you want to find out how well your car handles then there are quite a few very good back roads heading towards it (the old coast road to mablethorpe is one of them).

like i've said before any help & advise anyone can give me would be gratefully received.

The ground can be awfully uncomfortable these days and I do like my own bed when I can be in it.

thats still as good though as it would be a good chance for those of us who can't get to the southern meet's to have one (or 2) of our own.

that's what i was thinking about doing.

i'll pop into the pub this week to talk to them (sounds like a good excuse to have a pint while i'm there lol)

so keep your eye's peeled on the events calendar (& here) for when i post up my findings.
