engine can maybe be had cheap, but you are dabbling with the unknown as far as getting exhaust system sorted, the wiring, position of sump, which gearbox to use for RWD configuration and hundreds of other little fanny on moments which turn a project into something that never gets finished

the t series engine was fitted to 2 litre mpi discoverys coupled to an lt77 gearbox, which can be had in rwd format or couple to a transfer box to get 4wd
prob a case of finding a suitable bell housing(off mpi disco) and bolting it to a rwd main gearbox

k series??

its a t series 2 litre non turbo petrol engine, mounts the same as the turbo

its a rare vehicle as the engine is crap in such a heavy car but they were made for cheap tax in spain i believe

later ones may also use the r380 gearbox, but i think they are all lt77

the theory is the same no matter what engine but basically mounting it longitudally to clear any other components such as subframe, brake servo and steering rack, matching a gearbox, a custom prop then concentrating on the specific problem that particular conversion brings up as they happen such as hydraulic or cable operated clutch etc and to get the electrics sorted and running.
if its not been done before theres no insider knowledge to help and youll have to sort out the problems yourself as they arise.

I think an M50 turboed would work out cheaper in the end than using a T series! You can buy a bell housing to mate the T series to a type 9 ford gearbox for use in RWD, can't remember where from thugh.

If you really want boosted power why not look at a JAP engine? The CA18DET 200sx engine can be bought for peanuts and it is basically a 4cyl skyline engine. :D

How longs a piece of string! Depends if you do most of the fabricating and work yourself! or you pay through your arse for someone else to do it!
