325i m20 stock exhaust manifold, turn it upside down and it seems to make a perfect turbo mani? or does it?? I see the ports dont line up exactly but is it just a case of machining the head ports to suit???

Its perfect for a twin setup also...?

you'll need to grind and weld the manifold to get the ports lined up, but will do the job.

biggest issue is height, once an adapter is made to match the turbo flange, there is very little room for anything bigger than a T3 ( cossie ) sized snail.

there are pix of a setup such as you propose on my site, its Erel( Blingstas) cab

Would there be more clearance if you made a short adaptor that places the turbo where the washer bottle currently is Ant? I'm thinking M20 flange, two short pipes to the turbo flange.. Might be difficult to make a downpipe there though. Wouldn't cost much to have a decent fabricator to make it. Suporting it might be a ball ache too thinking about it.
