Hi, I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. I have a 91 318i and a garage full of tech 1 325 sport parts incl. engine, gearbox, diff, all suspension/drivetrain, wiring and I was hoping to stick the 2.5 into the newer 318.
I'm pretty happy with the mechanical side of the conversion but unsure as to how the car loom will connect up to the early engine loom etc. Anyone got any ideas on what the best plan of attack might be?

Also I read that somebody thought that using an early 2.5 high compression engine with a late 2.5 management setup might give better power?

Grateful for any help, cheers

Its will fit!
wiring/loom: you can swap the old jetronic for the newer motronic set up from a later 325i,
you will need the ECU,loom, front pulley with sensor and maybe a few more little bits
sound like a good project

oh and yes the early high comp engines are more 'perky' than later ones (i have one)

york isn't far from me and for a small fee I will convert the electrics I also have the parts :)

using an early 2.5 high compression engine with a late 2.5 management makes it quite lively the last one I did was great fun :D

Thanks for the offer but want to do the work myself really.

I thought the early 325 sports were still motronic, I'm sure it was a motronic ecu i pulled out of the car when I stripped it?

Can you give me any more details on what is involved with swapping to late management?

Has anyone got late 325 management/loom for sale??
