There is a Grey e30 in Dagenham that is running a 350bhp cossie engine, I know of this as I know the man who built it....along with his spaceframed mk2 escort with e28 M5 running gear and engine.

You will not believe he does all this out of his single garage....he's not even a mechanic...he drives trucks for a living :D

(I've booked my go in the Mk2 escort for sure!)

Good luck with the project too :D

I will try and catch up with him over the weekend, he lives a few miles from me, but he's a truck driver so catching home at home is a mission.

He used to post on the old zone, as he owned that e30 then, now his ex-misses has it. I will pass own your questions, see if he will enlighten us.
Having seen his work on the Mk2 escort, he certainly knows his stuff!!

Track and Race cars features a 680bhp E30 a few months back. It was a TVR AJP V8, twin turbo (Running just 8psi, estimated 760bhp at just under a bar) powered beast, with a 6-speed Dodge Viper Box. Hows that for a Power-Weight ratio? Yeah it was heavier because of the cage and bigger engine/box but it was still not much over 1200kg.
