Front strut brace

Little question, is it worth fitting a front strut brace on my 1.8 Cabby? Bog standard car, would one help with scuttle shake?

Are the hinged ones better than the solid ones?
Considering a brace in the near future,i had one many moons ago on my R5GTT and as jhonno said they make a difference,
steering feels more responsive (if that makes sense)
