If you're going to look at it like that, iS's are ideal for M50 swaps, and that'll crush your measly 12ve30bmlover wrote:320 ftw!! with the option of chucking an engine that the i.s could never match...

The M42 is so hi-tech, that it exists as mere refractions of light, only showing enough hollow form to bewilder the mortals who gaze this futuristic feat of engineering.
A bit of humour wasted on you. 'Capri' Rob.

between the 2 I'd have to go with the iS. Its going to give you a lot more. The iS may cost slightly more but you often get more car, sports seats suspension and all round discs are a biggie in my book.
Its also cheaper to insure and run than a 320 so while you may pay slightly less up front it may end up costing you more.

A holograph is a document written entirely in the handwriting of the person whose signature it bears.
I guess you are talking about a hologram which is something else entirely.
Can I retract all of my previous statements which may have confused you. I bow to your superior knowledge of the BMW marque and all things 4-pot.

As much as i hate Baurs, i like that.
Highbacks in a Baur with the 4 spoke is odd.
My first E30, a gloss black D reg 2dr 325i had an odd spec of,
Highbacks,
14" Bottle tops
Mtech suspension
open diff
Sport/SE leather steering wheel

With 195/60 tyres, an open diff and a healthy high comp B25 it was an animal in the wet!Alex wrote:bottle topsbss325i wrote:As much as i hate Baurs, i like that.

Another car i miss! D***VPK
Wow, i'm surprised at the response Ive had from this thread.
Looks like there is a lot of different opinions out there. I didnt really know much about the either of the two cars because the only option for me was always the 325i sport but as I said I am looking for something a good bit cheaper now.
This thread has been very helpful finding out the different specs and especially peoples opinions and experiences so cheers guys.....
... and definately not a waste of time!!!!

I beleive your correct, probably an ebay copy, but I am sure Blitz will shed light on it in due course.Blitz, where did you get the 'tech1' emblem from. I thought it had gone NLA and my BMW dealer said the same thing. Had to pay £6 for the shitty later type with the M in the middle.

Back on topic,
Im not a 2.0 fan but I think you will get a much nicer car for the money and they still sound lovely.
If you are not interested in going fast and just want to enjoy a bit of bmw motoring its the one.
Also you have options with this-
A) Fit a 2.5 Throttle body,zone chip,decent filter and exhaust and get 150bhp.
B) Buy a dead rusty 2.5 car and spend a weekend swapping the engine/box - very easy.
The one in my sig pic was a 2.0 and cost £150,bought a 2.5 donor car for £250- job done.
