Breaking the header tank return nozzle off the radiator a week before Germany! Although it was on it's way when I bought the car. Buying new brake pads 2 months before upgrade.

Buying a Tech 2 Sport last year, spending quite alot on service parts and alot of time MIG-welding the rust then stoving it into a crash barrier a year later - Cat B write-off
Image
Spunked £200 on a nice Hottuning six-branch for it too, now sitting in the garage with no car to put it on :(

Still, the cheque from the nice insurance company arrived today, and covers my costs :P

The detail on the incident is in this thread, but involved heavy rain and alot of mud and water draining off a field directly onto a dual carriageway at a notorious accident blackspot which claimed another car in the same week! http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... 78&start=0

Thanks for the concern folks. I'd certainly like another E30 and shall be looking out for one, but may have to settle for a mere normal car in the meantime.

On my first E30 I paid to have the back arches "repaired" and sprayed. Cost a couple of hundred quid - looked great......for a couple of weeks before the rust started coming back through. Total waste of time - should have paid a bit more and had new arches put on. You live and learn
