the BMW OE unit fits all models dude

The sump guard actually fits the crossmember not the engine so go for it M8

Although it's a bit of extra weight it's worth it and easy to fit as Ant says - it's saved my sump a couple of times.

Believe sump guard comes as standard on South African models.

My sump would have been destroyed multiple times without my sump guard. It does reduce ground clearance, but that's the only real issue.

Some good info here:

i want one, when i took my sump off there was some hefty damage, no holes, but if it hits much more i'm sure there would be one soon!

How much are they, a lot i bet.

Last time I checked, they were around Ԛ£150 from the dealer.

It is a heavy duty piece of kit though.

If you can find someone nearby with one you might be able to make a template and get one made up for yourself - it's only a metal plate and mounting points aren't too complicated.

i seem to have a plastic arrangement under mine, which covers most of thr unsightly stuff, dont think itԚ´d do much in the way of blocking a smack though :?

thatÔš's right, the South African cars did come with the sump guard. It protected my cars sump a few times. I think they are great, case in point, my friends 2000 VW Golf doesnÔš't have one and last week he ripped his sump right off after he hit a Speed hump at speed!!
