I wonder if there is scope for ripping them off. :)

Basically find the car, a bit like the above 306 that is overvalued, then go down the auctions knowing your 'budget' and rinse them.

Just need to do about 50 hours on that website to find the car that is valued wrongly, I am sure there will be one or two.

the car was a 2003 rover 75 club se 2ltr cdti with 75k on the clock in mint con.

they offered me ................£1850!!!

it was written off last week & the insureance have offered me .............£3500!!

I have to say that I think their valuation is closer to the money than your insurers'.

"Good first offer" as Noel would say.

They give you a valuation, then when you actually turn up with the car to hand over the keys they will re-valuate the car and give you less than the price they originally indicated.

wise words there...
I am made a kapoodle of a mistake some months ago when I thought about just patching up the e30. I phoned my insurance company, giving them the exact spec of my car rather than the registration. I did this because, on the website, entering in my rego gave me a different quote. Did it over the phone to indemnify myself i.e. they couldn't revoke the quote.

with reg: £550
confirming exact spec of car: £300

accidentally let slip their error on a future unrelated call. It just goes to show that it doesn't matter how good your systems are, it's the squidgy organic bit that built it you have to be wary of!

Ive been offered £50 for mine but they also want "a contribution" from the road fund licence and a £9.99 admin fee as well.

This is all subject to to an inspecton upon arrival so it looks like I`ll be paying them !!
