Right folks.
The Birthday pot has thrown up £150 for some replacement speakers and cable for my cab.(finally!) I just want to replace the tired originals with the best I can for the money.Maybe with some tweeters for the A posts?(No cutting!)
Complete novice on the ice side of things so any pointers greatfully received.
Cheers in adavance
ps. i did use the search function but it still drives me insane

I've just fitted some 5.25" Vibe Components, they sound really good. I had to make up some new speaker cards as the original ones were no good. Go some pics in photo gallery

I didn't look at any other makes tbh. Always been into Vibe. I'm sure Alex fitted some 5.25" but can't remember what make they were though

Fitted quite a few of these and realy good!
Hertz: DSK130 - 2 way 13cm components

Orion: HCCA5.2 - 5.25" components

check out http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product_list.php they have a wide range and priced cheaply!.
you can fit 6.5" in the front kicks with minor work. Components will sound lot better if amp'd up.

Where's the best place for the tweeters front and rear, without cutting up bits of trim?
I presume on the A post at the front. But I don't know how these things mount without seeing them.

bringing this thread back frm the past. Can you wire components with the existing factory wiring? If not how would it wire up?

Nearly 2yrs old!!
Yes you can use the factory wiring to run comp's.. They will only sound there best once amped up.
Factory speaker cable goes into crossover which spilts the signal to the tweeter and mid range.

so bc i'm retarded with ICE, do I just get a quality component system...then plug the factory speaker cable into the crossover. Then add wire from the crossover to the speaker?
I'm unsure how the factor tweeter hooks up?

Yes that is how it works.
Tweeter on the door pillar? Wiring in most cases is already present.
