Im trying the best i can to stop my filter sucking hot air from the engine bay thus hindering performance...
I know alot of you would rather stay with the stock air box as it gives protection against the heat..so just want some of your views..
going back to the stock box with a K&N filter has got to be favourite with the e30..they run so damm hot unless you wanna spend Ԛ£250+,at least that way it closed off and i can get a cold feed from somewhere to feed it..
Advice pls..
Cheers

Standard air box and standard filter, changed often.
You can buy a lot of standard filters for the price of a K&N, and the standard item actually filters.

if you want some induction roar, you could drill a few small holes in the front bottom of the intake box, so that the air still gets filtered

K&N panel filter was less than Ԛ£30 from GSF so its not that steep - and it will outlast the lifetime of the car.... It has made a difference compared to the standard item too. Steer clear of the sharks on FleaBay who are asking nearer Ԛ£60.

na..im pretty happy with it now..and i like the sound from Cones
thinking maybe of enclosing the rear up too though at the AFM..probably wouldnt make alot of differnence though and a bit tricky to do if i wanna make it look right..dont wanna make it look tacky..
I was this [ ] close to buying a pipercross Viper Induction kit for Ԛ£230 then i got a slap round the head from the missus and i sorta went of the idea..
thing what put me off apart from the slap was the size of the farkin feed hose that you gota make room for..think its 150mm
where the hell would you put that in the front-ish of a e30
