Yeah I bought a full set when I did my exhaust manifold when I first bought the car and bought some more when doing the head rebuild.
Both receipts state they are Ԛ£0.12 retail + vat from BMW.
The copper nuts cost the same.

Right i've just taken my standard manifold off! with the engine hot at running temp. Only one burn finger! I got 11 off then the manifold came lose!

hmmmm i thought. Well one stud had no nut on it! my gaskets are fooked plus i'm curious as i have had a 6 branch sitting in my bedroom for 2 months looking at me! So i'm now gonna see how she lines up!

What gets me is 2 of the threaded bars are still the head the other 10 came out complete with the nut and bar together? is this good?

However one stud broke off about 5mm short but its the one on the top right at the front with the most room near the screen fluid bottle. So not too bad me thinks

Off to play!

This is fine, usually more studs saty in than that.
To get the remaining two studs out, screw and old bolt so that it is half way down the stud, then put another bolt onto the stud. Tighten it till its up against the one that is halfway up the stud.

Now put a spanner on the one thats half way up the stud(closer to the head) and put a socket on the one that you put on last.

Then using the spanner un tighten the stud!
