Now I'd rather spend £5K on this then the 320i convertible.

I like the car, but I have to say that I am always weary of sellers who go to such an extent to photograph the cars. Each car looks like it in a cover shoot.

Does look gorgeous and one day I'll have an E34 M5 - and if you bought this one I bet you'd wish you'd gone for the 3.8
Previously owned loads of old E30s, E34s, a few E36s, E32s, E39s and an E38.

Currently in a diesel Audi - miss me old E30's....

I'd be surprised if anyone had those wheels on anything else - they are pretty unusual.
They look like this without the covers:

and this with the covers:

The later 'throwing star' wheels were also covers...

There are these wheels which are similar (but are wheels, not covers):

I think they are. They're often mistaken for M5 wheels, I know that.

HarryP has them on his compact.

Pilsbury, with regards to the m5 wheels, can you interchange the throwing stars with the 'fans?'

You can indeed, the wheel behind them is the same. The fans came first. A lot of people mocked them because they assumed the M5 came with steels. They obviously do work though...

love that white m5, not really a fan of white cars in general either. just looks spot on in that colour with the turbnes.

and yes, they are rare. there must be a fair few sets hidden in sheds and garages, but i had to go looking in germany when i wanted a set to use as winter wheels on my m3

which then bacame summer wheels for the compact
Image

very very cool wheels, but pretty hard to understand why untill you see them up close in full 3d :D
cheers,

harry

I think the white and the turbine wheels achieve what the M5 was designed to do - be a very discreet performance car.
Not a huge fan of white myself, although I do at time regret not getting a white Z4 Coupe, and I do like the 1 series coupe in white.

I really like the look of them without any covers on at all, they look a bit like some 70's american mag wheels...
I always thought they were just pikey hubcaps...You learn something every day !!!

The M5 is gorgeous. How can anyone not like white? That just looks so right.

Except the bloody screw holes in the centre console :x :x :x :x
NOTHING annoys me more.

The X1/9 is pretty tidy too....

I briefly had one with a FIAT Croma turbo engine in it (until a friend wrote it off) - was a nippy little run about...
