I've got a nasty quite loud bottom end knocking when cold...
How long do you reckon it could last, and what is likely to happen when it gives up...?
I'm gonna keep driving it as normal until it goes.

Thanks... I'll muddle my way through when it comes to it, in the meantime has anyone got a spare sump cheap?

I'm starting to think maybe it isn't bottom end... the knocking literally dissapears about 2-300 yards out of my road. and it seems far to clear a noise to be bottom.
Could I be mistaking it for a knackered rocker or something around that area.....! can these make noise from cold and then clear up as it gets warmer??

My bottom end knock rang out clear as a bell I'm afraid
Guess it fades away as the oil pressure builds up enough to seperate the bearing and crank surfaces.
