basically it goes up and down at a steady pace from 500 to 1200 rpm, theres no air leak, it's not the icv as i changed it for a working one. Only thing that makes a difference is if I disconnect the afm, it gets better but still shunts up and down.

Any ideas

Mine does the same, but only sometimes. I was looking in to it untill my other car broke.

Let me know how you get on with this one.... :) I could do with an answer too!

Seems to be a common M50 issue..

Have you checked the intake elbow? Particularly where the pipe joins from underneath?
Got cable ties? Get diffin..

Can you elaborate on this? There’s two pipes going to the bottom of my inlet elbow and the elbow itself is slightly cracked where these join. I’ve jubilee clipped them and I’m pretty sure they are not leaking ”“ but if this is a cause of this problem it seems a bit obvious! :)

I don't think I have an air leak. A leak big enough to cause this kind of rpm change would be pretty obvious and i've used two cans of brake cleaner looking for any kind of leak.

Ok! Will give BM a phone call this morning!

Dan if you could run a diagnostic on it again that would be great, I have the odd occasion when it bogs down with very little power, it might show me if there is something playing up :) In exchange for another couple of koenigseggs.

:)

mine had been cable tied on one of the two pipes that come out the bottom of the elbow and was causing an air leak, even though the cable tie looked to have sealed it

Sounds just like mine - except I have used jubilee clips! Doesn't really explain the intermitence though :?
