If you want an easy swap M30, can be done in a weekend if you have all the parts to hand and a helper. Almost zero wiring mods (my engine had already been in an E30 so no wiring mods for me!)
Having said that, if I had my time again I would go for an S50, not a huge amount of work involved but more expensive due to the exhaust manifold. I am currently trying to secure a 'friend of a friends' recently crashed M3 to start getting parts for another swap. Having driven my 335 for a month I feel the need for more power!

You say that winx, but my wiring took me 10hrs on my s50.. Ok, one of the more time consuming jobs, but it all adds up!
Budget 6K DIY for an S50 swap.. Although if you get a crashed M3 you can make some ££ back breaking it.. If you secure the M3 soon, I'm after the rear brakes..

Eko, loved your old M50'd Chromie.. If I wasn't so (sadly) attached to my E30, or had room, I'd make my own version, just with more power
