Viscous Help

Hi

recently my fan belt had gone loose and was squeeking (sp) like mad, so i had it tightened

now my viscous fan has gone really really loud it sounds stupid outside, people expect to see a big bus go past but they see me in my convertible

anyone know what the problem is

has my viscous had its days???

If you're sure the noise is from the fan, then yes, it sounds like your viscous unit has locked up. You should be able to turn the fan independantly of the water pump pulley with only light resistance when cold.
