Hi

My e36 328i wont start. It has been stood for 2days with the boot not shut properlly (down but not locked) as i cant get it to close im thinking damp has got in the boot. The battery is in the boot but looks fine and not visablly damp.

Is there any other electrics in the boot that could be damp?

With the ignition on I get all dash lights, apart from the heater controls and the radio which arent coming on.

When i try to start the car, the engine wont turn over at all not even trying i just get a clicking noise from glovebox/passanger footwell area. The clicking noise is sometimes at a steady pace but other times it clicks really quickly.

I dont think its alarm/immobiliser/ews as i can arm and disarm the alarm.

I dont think its the battery as i get lights and its not even trying to turn over.

Im thinking it maybe some damp in electrics somewhere as im geting no radio/heaters.

All fuses in fuse box under bonnet look fine. Is there any other fuses anywhere else?

Any ideas?

If the boot don't shut then am boot light has probably been on and flattened the battery.

As e30Mark has suggested. Your lights etc will still work unless the battery is completely drained which from the sounds of it yours isn't. The voltage the lights and other systems need is nothing compared to the wallop in battery drain terms required to engage and turn the starter. Charge your battery again and everything will be fine so long as the battery is good. Or get a jump start (if the latter, don't do it while the other vehicle is running/idling, switch that off then hook it up). Hold the revs at around 2000 rpm's on your car once started for two to five mins to charge sufficiently for an independant self start as normal.
