Touring rear wiper not working
Moderator: martauto
As above, iv checked the power at the motor and there isnt any, iv checked the wires from the motor to under the headlining and nothings broken, theres power at the switch and the switch works. Is there any relays anywhere because i cant see any in the manual. It worked when i first got the car then it went a bit mad with the wiper stopping anywhere it wanted and now nothing, the only thing that does work is the rear washer, its doing my head in now, any ideas??

With the wiper stopping at random, this could just be the same problem we sometimes see with front wiper motors. There is a piccie guide buried in the wiki about this, but briefly, the motor has a switch plate built into the gearbox and this gets contaminated with old, hardened grease.Often,a simple dismantling of the motor/gearbox,clean up and re grease will get it going again.Have a hunt in the wiki for the guide may help you.

Ok thats worth a look but i still dont get why theres no power at the motor, i wonder if theres anything between the switch which has power and the wirings journey to the back,, i imagine theres a broken wire somewhere but short of ripping the wiring out to check it i think i can live without it, i was hoping there would be a relay somewhere but if thats done in the motor itself then im stuck

Parking mechanism is completely different on the rear wiper, compared to the front. The 'parking' mechanism on the rear wiper controls the rear washer only.
There is a control module tucked up inside the LH boot compartment.
Pull the plug off of the module, and link the black/yellow to the purple/red. This will apply power directly to the motor if the ignition is on.

Just a quick thanks to Brianmoooore for the sound info, had a look today and all i can work out is that it was either loose or not connected but without knowing where it was i dont think i would have found it, its working fine now, nice one
