Two weeks ago my alloys turned up from the states how happy was i over the fooking moon.

so started looking for new tyres, so after looking and looking i ordered a couple of sizes, first i went for 225/50/16 when they turned up i looked at them thinking there not going to look right, so the only way to find out was to go and have one of them fitted up, brought it home and kept looking at it over 24 hours thinking it looks like something that belongs to a mizzy bish i hated it, But the guy that but the tyre on for me really took care in doing it, he say to me "please come and check your wheel before you leave my shop" which i was happy to hear not a mark on them.

back to the wheel and tyre, i rang the company where i got them from and said can you send me the other size i wanted they say "yeah not a problem fella" send the others back and we will send the others out.

so that day went back down to see the guy that put the tyre on for me and he say he did not have time to do it today so i left his shop and went just around the corner to someone else, Hello mate any chance you can take this tyre of for me "yeah of course"
Then he go and give it to some little YTS boy (yeah you all know whats going) he throw my alloy on the machine with no care in the world so i told he to be very care he gives me a little smirk i wanted to hit him,,,guess what he did next NO PROTACTION TO MY WHEEL BROUGHT DOWN THE ARM AND BUT HIS FOOT DOWN TO START IT TURNING yes guys all the way round my rim
fooked.

guess what he said "IT WASN`T ME" the rest i would not like to talk about.
but i hit the fooking roof

I do have a new one on the way at there expense.

but how would you guys feel or have you felt when done to you.

I had it done to me a few years back....

I could have killed the guy...

Trouble was he was a 17st monster....

He did pay up for the alloy though.

i think we need pics, its always a big risk as half of these places arnt realy bothered and have a lot of young lads working there who cant be arsed, i had the same thing when i asked them to put weights on the inside of a wheel and they put them on the out side and marked all the paint, only on the work van but still.

Gutted,

I have had it on a classic american car, the wheels were ultra rare and the guy said "there was a little scuffing but its not too bad". From my reponse (I was having a bad day anyway) you would have thought he came into my house on Christmas day and pissed on my kids.

Fair play they did get it refurbed for me.

No need for internet heroics. As frustrating as it is, at least they're replacing it.

For once I agree with one of your comments! :D

They screwed up and now they are buying you a new rim.

You choose to go to another tyre shop because you couldn't wait for the first guy. Sh!t happens but they are dealing with it.

I choose to go to another shop because i had too they where been collected in the morning by courier and it was already about 3 in the afternoon and i work nights so had too. but at the same time it dont matter how many shops i visited it still should have not happened or even if i could`nt wait, the shop guy can take as long as they like getting the tyre off as long as they do it right.

After i had my wheels refurbed i had no idea where to get the tyres put on, in the end i left to my mate who had refurbed them for me and he got them put on. They did catch one edge a little but then you have to put some pressure on to get the tyre on, and it got touched up before they were given back to me and now its hardly noticeable
Call me on 07858 151 197 - leave a message if no answer as i am probably busy! Will call you back!

The little YTS prick has had to start somewhere and experience is a valuable thing at an early age, give the garage some credit for replacing the wheel and the YTS lad had an expensive lesson and will be more careful in the future.

Think back at the time when we all started out in our first jobs and accidents/mistakes happened.

Well done for getting a new wheel.

all my wheels and tyres go to the same guy, he refurbs them and fits the tyre knowing the fact, you mark it you fix it. Funnily enough like most people I trust I'm not fussed if it takes longer and he knows that and so we get on and I recommend him.. The people I dont like are the ones that whinge about him yet never say anything to him at all.

i bought a set of refurbed m3 wheels a while ago without tyres. i managed to source and have fitted three tyres so far, leaving the fourth wheel at the tyre fitters "until i get another tyre". i recently found a fourth tyre so took it to the shop to be fitted.

"alright adi, i'll just go and get your wheel, it's here somewhere." "found it mate, i'll just put the tyre on."
 "what the f*%k has happened to that??? 8O it looked like it had been thrown around the concrete floor a dozen times! :cheese:

after "i say old bean, that's just not on", they agreed to pay for it to be refurbed. will it turn out the same as the other three? i doubt it somehow!

I had my tyres put on by the same people who refurbed them, assuming that they would do the job properly and would not want to damage the work that they had done. They didn't damage it in the slightest.

I am a tyre fitter and although we are very careful with every wheel some times mistake can happen. Its not the mistake its how they put it right for you that counts. As far as i can see they stud by there mistake and replaced your wheel. My local bmw dealership sends all there runflats down to us now because there best lad marked 6 wheels on 2 jobs in 1 day. Thats a bad day ha ha.

when i had my wheels refurbed a couple of years ago i used a local company a mate of mine recommended to me to get my tyres from cheap. took the wheels to them told them they had been refurbed before they even touched the wheels and i waited while they fitted tyres no problems at all no damage to my wheels . really it all depends on what day a fitter is having even the most experienced f*ck up now and again

edited to sort of make sence! :o:
