i started removing the sunroof stuff out of my car today. was rather dismayed to find the outer sunroof panel skin was rotten once id removed the inner panel. its simply not worth putting back in the car, cant see me finding anything better up here either.

does anyone do fibreglass sunroof panels? had a search on here and found a few cf ones but they are way to pricey.

Is it a F/G panel to seal up or replace the metal lump and still be used as a sun roof?

just wanted something light to replace the sunroof hole. the sunroof gubbins will all be gone by the end of the week. everyone else seems to just remove the inner skin of the sunroof panel and weld the outer skin back on with tabs to the car roof. no problem with that but my sunroof panel is gubbed. thought a f/g panel would be tidier and maybe easier to bond in too, seems no one does one though.

Can you not make one? Halfrauds sell sheets and resins etc, with some imagination should be fairly easy to make something

i did consider it, my dad has all the gear to f/g as he has a boat that he is refurbing.

the only issue is time, space and laziness. :D he also reckons its too dcold to f/g in the garage so i'd need to do it in the house.

this was also considered, wasnt sure how long it would last up here though, had visions of the edges going rapidly rusty.

are you just going to paint it in situ on the roof?

Painted after being fitted, looks acceptable on a race car, not sure about a road car though.... :o:
