Just wondered what torque the turbo 325s/ 227s are putting through a standard bmw clutch and what make to go for, sachs is it??

Does anyone do a uprated one at decent money, i'am swoping my flywheel to a standard M20 one now to get round my clutch issue so can now fit an clutch from/for and M20 but dont know whats avaible for the 325, ive seen black diamond do a 20% uprated one for £173 but are they any good? :D

Cheers , Matt

They will take 225 ftlb all day long, but think some have tested them beyond this. I think Iain Temple had a standard one when he was running nitrous on his 2.7.

The ones to go for are sachs or LUK

How much torque is this thing of yours going to be putting down do you reckon? :D

stock clutch in mine has seen 18psi on a GT37 and 1.3bar on the holset, still going strong.

My mate james cooked his stock clutch first time he gunned it in his early m20turbo, go figure.

For the peace of mind I'd get a spec one or clutch masters as they do kits and cater for all, otherwise email randomdave, he knows a man who makes custom ones :D

I have a UUC Motowerks segmented kevlar clutch in mine. 2400psi+ clamping pressure and good for up to 650 lb-ft of torque. You'll never kill it. Direct fit, no hassles, plug and play and drive away.

Nothing wrong with LUK or Sachs, however. A Sachs uprated organic clutch would be fine for a bucketload of torque. Their kit is a 40% above standard if I recall aright.

the sachs 618 uprated pressure plate is supposed to give enough extra ability you can use the stock clutch for over 300/350ftlb's.
