I have a M535i with the standard 12v engine,standard bodykit,dogleg box ect...
BUT
The logbook just states M5 not M535I and the car has full electric leather and BBS wheels like the M5.
Have I got a real M5 with the wrong engine.?(im aware they didn't have a bodykit)
Have the DVLA messed up.?
Is it a ringer (must be a good one)?
Do all the logbooks say M5?
M5 or m535i?

real m5's have the battery in the boot, and it is easy to change a log book eather than the DVLA messing up.

Almost certainly a mistake, bodykit was an option on the M5 (not sure why anyone took it but quite a few did!) No one it their right mind would swap in the 12v lump. Whack the last 7 digits of the vin into realoem that will tell you.

First 3 letters will tell you:
WBS - M5
WBA - M535i
BBS wheels were an option on the M535i, as was full leather and electrics.
The bodykit was not standard on the M5, but, was an option.
