This is e30 related because i use it to jack up my car.

Does anyone know where to get a seal thingy for the bottom of this?

Tried Halfrauds, as they did sell them at one time.
Tried my local car parts shops, but as soon as I say trolley jack repair they don't want to know!

Im using a rubber grommet at the moment but this isn't exactly ideal.

I wonder how long it takes that jack to loose pressure with a rubber gromit instead of a metal to metal seal ?

One thing i am sure of is you wouldn't get me under a car for love nor money using that

Do what i did and buy the cheap one from halfords and when it goes wrong take it back again and again and again

Buy cheap, Buy often

When you said they were cheap, i didn't expect them to be CHEAP cheap!
Compared to my old one, this is like tin foil.

I bought a snap on blue point one about 8 years ago, which is just a rebadged sealey unit. It's built like a brick sh1thouse, which is more than I can say for myself as I have trouble lifting it. IIRC it cost about Ԛ£90, none of that Halfords bacofoil muck.

Having said that, my local pikey shop sells a set of 3 mini wire brushes for about no pence and they are quite the most useful things.
