I know this sounds a little wacko but the reality is this:
my E30 is equiped with highback Recaro's in good condition...driver seat is worn, passenger one slightly worn...they need reupholstery which costs about 500 EUR and that's the money which I don't have right now...so I put some seat covers, expensive ones...
anyway, my friend bought minty 318is with standard seats...imaculate ones...car has 70.000miles, and seats are like brand new
I was thinking of swapping, what do you think?

thanks for all suggestions

Don't do it, those are standard comfort seats, not even the sport's seats normally found in the IS. Keep the highbacks.
If I were in your situation I'd look at college courses to learn how to re upholster the highbacks myself.

Sport seats were an option on eurpean iS's so comfort seats with iS cloth are about.griff87 wrote:I thought "is" seats were of the sport variety? That looks like comfort interior to me.
I would NEVER swap a set of highbacks for a set of comfort seats!
Those highbacks are worth £3-400 in england and those comfort seats no more than £100.
Dont do it!
NOOO DONT!
Those highbacks you have are stunning and rare. Get them sorted or you'll reget it. When the time comes for a bit of fun, comfort seats are too unsuportive and you roll around everywhere. Sports seats have that nice hugg to them. If you do change your seats, put normal sport seats in.
If you do want those seats though, p.m. me and i'll consider taking those seats off your hands

Uni is killing the project.

I'm guessing quite a popular option then? as every iS I've seen has been kitted with the sport seats optionbss325i wrote:Sport seats were an option on eurpean iS's so comfort seats with iS cloth are about.griff87 wrote:I thought "is" seats were of the sport variety? Highbacks >Discomfort seats that goes without saying. I really cannot see you logic in changing. That's like saying "Stuff this super comfortable leather sofa I'd prefer to sit on a bucket."

your high backs don't even look that shabby
You'd be mad to swap for those comforts or even sport seats to be honest

E30 comfort seats are some of the worst I've sat in...don't do it. You could even swap you recaros for a good set of sports seat

I think you we should swap RH seats so you'll have a pair of matching tatty highbacks and I'll have a nice pair
....no?
I keep meaning to get mine repaired but the last time I enquired at BMW only the centre material was still available not the silver side bits. 500Euro seems a bit steep though to repair yours-how many estimates did you get? obviously its not always good to go with the cheapest price though.
