Hi guys

I am typing this from the office where I work. Just managed to limp my iS here.

The car started experiencing a funny "Turbo lag" type sensation when driving on the motorway this morning (hesitating and "kangarooing" when under acceleration).

As I turned off the motorway and began driving slower, the car started to cut out at every roundabout! I basically had to keep the revs piled on to prevent it fronm stalling every time I slowed down.

I realise this is not a great description of the problem but if anyone has any suggestions I would be most appreciated. I'm going out for a few hours with a colleague but will try and have a look at it mid afternoon.

I fear this may be one of the AA as I don't fancy driving it home...

Thanks in advance

Matt

Yeah, I found the M42 engine to be a bit powerless too.

Sounds like you have an air/fuel problem of some kind. Is there any chance that water could have got into the system? Possibly in the form of snow? Did it start off that way and get worse, or did it get better as you drove?

Check the large air hose between the air filter/meter and the throttle body for splits.

Thanks for the replies guys. While I was out earlier my colleague removed and replaced the coolant temp sensor and took it for a run round. He seems to think it's cured the problem so I'll take it home tonight and let you know how I get on.

Quick update:

It is now running perfectly again! The temp sensor must have been the culprit!
