Condensation in boot of Cab

Seem to be getting a lot of condensation in the boot. the car has been stood for a couple of months, but its made carpet go mouldy. Any suggestions to stop this? ive tried one of those small moisture absorbing boxes.

Have you cleaned out the drainage holes?

I'll answer on here, there are drainage for the roof storage compartment. When it rains, it should leak out underneath the front door sill both sides. The drainage holes are a pain to get to but should be checked. There is a picture on here, i'll see if i can find it

i dont seem to have any water leaking issues other than a puddle in the left corner of the boot, but i think thats the rear light seal, but the boot lids really suffers bad from condensation. Just seems too much ..Canyou get to them from underneath?

Yeah you can, if you look underneath the sills of the front doors then you should see a hole. Best way to check them is to pour a bit of water down the side of the roof compartment and then see the water trikkle out underneath

Excellent, sometimes easier to see these things from underneath.

If the water leaks out then the drainage holes are okay. It may take a couple of seconds for the water to come through.

rear light seals or boot seal

if the lip under the boot seal has rusted you will need to sort that before you put a new boot seal on otherwise it still may leak

or is the well where the jack goes full of water ..there is a drain hole in the bottom that gets blocked ..water can collect in there from the aerial or from the air vent in the wing behind the lining

Yes its the well where the jack goes...there was a good inch of water in there. im pretty sure that its coming from the rear light as theres minor white marks in the carpet and also the bottom edge of the trim panel is quite powdery to sugest water getting in.. just need some time to investigate it and get the carpet trim panel out of the left side.

i have this same issue, where abnouts is the dranage hole? iv just emptied the water out so just awaing it to dry fully...will check all drainage holes tomoz.

feel about in the bottom of the well or have a look on the outside just behind the wheel ..they usually get blocked

Mine isnt a cabby, but that well is full of water. I cant see any evidence of a drainage hole. If someone locates it please tell me

couldnt see them today even looked under the edege of the carpet thingy. Going to be removing wheels soon anyhow so il have a look there, where abouts behind the arch are they do you know?

Hmm not really clear in the picture for the left hand side of the boot, but I would assume they are there. Will have a ferret at some point.

If anyone can get a better picture up please post it.

That picture is for the cab roof compartment drainage holes, not the boot

That would explain it. Well, in the boot campartments, are there any drainage holes. I have a good inch of water there!

I'm not sure mate, have you checked the rear light seals?

I have exatly the same thing, the condensation thing was making look like the water was coming in past the lid seal. Replaced that no better.

Did some digging around the lights and it's coming in there I thing. Got some new light seals hopefully that's a fix.

I think the water comes in at lights exhaust heats up water, condensation, drips on carpet in the middle, mould!

this is a very old thread lol ...hope the new seals work for you but you will find a drainage hole at the bottom of the well where the jack goes ...stops water collecting there
