You're doing about 20 to the gallon there. Not sure what it should be as mines not on the road yet and I've never run one before.

Should be around 26 MPG for a 325.
Spark plug colour check is the first thing to do.

I tend to average about 21mpg on my short daily commute in an E30 325i Sport. On longer trips with steady motorway / A-road runs more like high 20's. Yours sounds about right to be honest. :D

I only get about 175 miles out of a full tank in my 325i cab but it is mainly stop start stuff to work and back every day, don't even think she gets chance to warm up properly. A service is well overdue though I think. Just need to remember where I parked it on Sunday night ow as it's under about a foot of snow :o:

I have just got 370 miles out of a full tank on an 88 325with the red light having been on for 10 miles but most of this was motorway driving.Later 325's do about 25-27 on mixed driving if you aren't gettinng this it may need maintenance have you changed the blue coolant sensor?

I read somewhere that the engine earth strap can go home on E30s which causes the ECU to make the car run rich, just another thing to check.
I get 25ish mpg from my early 325 sport and thats mixed driving

I just got about 200 miles out of a tank on my '89' 325i, in all honesty though I don't exactly drive it economically all the time, it also has a speedtouch mild chip fitted, I may well change this back to the standard one to see if there is a difference, the exhaust smells like it's over fuelling quite a lot.

Mixed driving should see high twenties. I check my mpg every time I fill up on my daily driver 320i - Best 38mpg, worst 21mpg, based on the odo reading. Economy seems to be worse with a speedtouch mild chip.
