should be able to mate! the m30 swap needs the loom etc from the 7 to run it iirc,
plus you'l also need a manual gearbox!best bet for that is a 530 or 535i e34.....

Sorry daz, I'm lacking in tech advice on the conversion, but way to go fella!
If you need engine mounts and M3 prop etc then give Davetouring a shout as he is selling a 3.5 lump, plus the e30.de engine mounts and some other stuff you'll need.

do it!!
and like you say, when a 3.5 lump comes along, snap it up.
it'll be an easy swap once the 3 litre is in.
then once your 'comfortable' with the power, get a blower on it!!!

If you can afford to, buy Daves stuf and the 730,use the 3.5 and flog the 3.0 and break the 7 to recoop(sp?) some dosh.
730 manual is a pretty rare car i'd have thought ?

You might be able to use the rad and if your handy with a welder and on a budget you could try to chop/weld the 730 exhaust system on to the E30 ?
You need the down pipes,ECU and wiring loom, obvious stuf
