Hi all,

I have recently upgraded myself from 320i to 325i and now in the process of changing the ECU chip to ZONE chip. Before I could place the order, I want to know what I have is Motronics 1.1 or 1.3 .. the box says Motronics

Bosch Part No: 0261 200172

BMW part No: 17305 73

Can any one help please ?

TQ

1.3 dude, facelift onwards type, large diagnostic connection and only one pulse gen on the front pulley rather than two (speed and ref) on the flywheel

HTH

172 ECU is from a 320 though dude............. 173 for the 325iiiiiiiiiiiiii although a chip swop sorts that anyways

Ant, thanks for the info so it is 1.3 I take it.

When I was still in engineering college, I use to repair all sorts of electrical and electronic house hold equipments in my spare time to earn some cash. I never get to enjoy those money since all my hostel mates have marked my income and knew when I will get the cash. We straight go for movies and then to dinner on these money. I can never say no either because these guys actually bring me in business from the people they know.

OK I just sent your the fee by Pay Pal for a Zone chip. Just curious how do you spend these cash dude

Good call dude,

as for where it gets spent.... once the costs are removed the remainder goes into the Zone account, your custom ensures we remain online dude.

The verdict :

Yesterday I received my ZONE CHIP after being hijacked by the POST MAN for nearly one month.

I installed it this morning ! Ok my first day feeling is: The car is very responsive now. ZIPPING left and right on the highway is piece of cake. Nobody overtake me in front on heavy traffic crawl stop and go.

Hey Ant, you sure this stuff will not guzzle more petrol

Thanks dude,

May be you should rebrand the chip to E30 Viagra or Hooligan Chip
:jester:

My second observation:

I find one of the trick coding in the chip is that,

BEFORE I installed ZONE HOOLIGAN CHIP, when I accelerate hard and apply the brake to slow down, I have to apply the break harder. The car seems to have too much momentum.

AFTER installing the ZONE HOOLIGAN CHIP, when I release my leg from the accelerator peddle, I find there is auto breaking effect. Waaow this is clever idea. so now I have to apply the break not so hard like before.

I have seen this effect before in my other car, when I used a gadget called CYCLONE in the air intake port.

Hey, Ant can you tell me, what other secrets are bundled in the CHIP, instead I have to figure it out myself.

cheers
