Hi all,

I in Canada and I have an early m-tech car I am restoring.

It is an 03/87 325ic and the car was imported from Germany. The information that I have states that the car was purchased by a BMW employee and featured various m-tech bits including (I think) suspension and swaybars and the full body kit. The only catch is that my car appears to have a euro front bumper spoiler instead of the m-tech piece. I have been told that this is because my car is an early m-tech.

Do any of you know where I can go to find more information about early m-tech cars? I am looking for production info, options etc...

Thanks!

Tidy car dude !

the Mtech front apron was available from mid 86 onwards so I can see no reason for its omission on your car, perhaps the original purchaser preferred the add on lip as fitted.

you could obtain a front apron from the UK no worries, most of the early cars are crumbling in breakers yards ( ) shipping it may proove costly though

best bet for info is get your local dealer to run the chassis number, you'll then have the list of options etc the car was built with, you can work the additions out from that if there are any

dont forget to tell your dealer that the car is a euro import, as in many cases, US dealers cant find chassis numbers unless they know where it came from.

I know a guy with a proper mtech 1 front valance for sale. its diamond black and needs paint obviously, as yours would need to be red. I cant see him asking that much for it, as he no longer has his BMW. want me to ask the questions?

Hey guys,

Thanks for the info.

I'll pass on the M-Tech one front at this time, here is Canada the spoiler is actually more rare than the M-tech 1 kit. I have been told some competing stories on the early M-tech cars so I am looking to get some proper Europe info.

The car was delivered to a BMW employee in Munich in 03/04/87.

Also, some type of kit was factory. I have the Zertifikat to prove it. Here is something else to check out:
