Stopped on the way home from work to take some snaps of my new daily driver :) Hope they're not too offensive to E30 owners!

Spill the beans then, where is the white scrapper! We worked hard to break into that.

What engine is in the green one, is that a 520i roadblock badge? :)

Looks tidy, I need a 540 touring in my life.

The white one's sat on my drive... :?
Needs at least £300 spending on it to get the MOT, & then it'll still be tatty, cloth trimmed & white, with a noisy gearbox (/release bearing). The future doesn't sound rosy for it, does it? :(

The new one is indeed a lowly 2.0 - m50b20tu with a manual box though.
Nice late one ('96) too, with a decent spec, FSH & 13 months MOT... Probably paid over the odds, but it's just what I was after & I was in a bit of a rush too!

Have a go on Sun if you want. An m60'd be great, but not for my daily commute...

Ta :) The sky kinda matches the zone theme too!

Built like a tank (as everyone says), really quiet & smooth but goes remarkably well too (as they don't say!). I wouldn't have one with an m20, or an autobox for that matter, & I can't comment on the non-vanos version, but this one is a lot quicker than I expected. It's hardly the same as an E30 with an M30 in it but hey, I don't need it to be!

The E34 is one of the last over engineered cars BMW made,i had a 525i 24v on a K,was very spritely and built like a tank too!!

Nice looking touring, always promised myself a 540 touring one day.

You don't want the wheels Marc - metric wrongness! Albeit with lots of tread so they'll last a good while. I do like the look of them though, even though they're only 390s...

I just bought my 525 sport 2 weeks ago and it's going great so far, more car for the money than an e30. Can't beat the luxury for cruising about, and the M50 is a great engine

Nice pics, is the light inside the car an internal light. Or is it the cars headlights reflecting off the mirror or something as its long exposure?

Really good pics dude, I like the 4th one down. Most people do traffic trails from ontop of a motorway bridge or something, its nice to see them with the trees and the house in the background.

All you need now is clear indicators and some LPG gear :)

:)

Not sure if I can be bothered with the clear indicators ATM, but I'm sure I'll get round to it eventually! & I certainly won't be getting any new metric tyres when these wear out, so I'll have to work out what I want instead... & I do prefer the sport(?) front bumper... Damn I was supposed to be leaving it standard! Doesn't need anything anyway.

LPG is a very tempting idea. Wish I hadn't flogged the setup I had sat in my garage for ages!

You'd need a better setup than that really though. One backfire and it might pop the plastic manifold. You'd ideally want a sequential injection setup, which you might have to buy ANOTHER car to obtain cheaply.

Dan do you use single point on yours?

Jon, take the engine, gearbox and battery :) , then weigh the white turd.

And the OBC & towbar(!) :)

You'll have to fill me in on what I need, LPG wise... I'll never get round to working it all out again! Do you have any hassle insuring yours without a certificate?

Very quick as I have to be in a lecture in 15 mins...

Donut
Tank multivalve(hopefully comes with the tank.
1 metre ish of 8mm plastic coated copper
5? metres of 6 mm plastic coated copper
Solinoid or check valve thing in the engine bay
Vapouriser capable of support 150bhp
o2 sensor, yours should have that though
cable ties :D
Filler nozzle
Few olives
Leonardo ECU with all the wiring and a stepper motor
-Not sure if it has a constantly variable TPS, as it could do with one. m20b25 doesn't, but an m42 does
Patience

No certifcate required, although profession lpg install was selected(only option) winkeye winkeye And it did put it up by £50, but they were originall £250 cheaper than everyone else.

Sorry, in a rush i have said what I need. you need 4 LPG injectors for yours rather than a mixer plate(which i also forgot) :S oh and a blow back valve from my setup. :S

I think, but can't confirm that the leonardo will control a sequential setup. You'd need to drill the manifold as well for the injectors and you might need an 'injector harness trick module' - Can't remember proper name, it depends how clever the m50 ecu is. I have one of the above if ever needed for a 6 pot as well.

Sequential on mine yes, injector for each cylinder, mounted less than an inch from the inlet port in the manifold. You dont need to trick the ECU, I have a relay that cuts the power to the petrol injectors when the gas cuts in

I would have rather had an e30 over my e34, but unfortunately I couldn't find an e30 that wasn't a bucket of sh*te for the price of my 525 sport, which drives pretty much the same as an e30 and is much comfier.
