Get NoS.
Really, you gotta show the rice boyz that old skool rules.

Also, the throttle pedal is no longer a variable thing. It's simply a switch, which goes "on" at the beginning and doesn't come "off" again until the end of the victory lap.

There's a few Hondas and a Clio in that 2008 list that you might have a bit of a chance against, but for the most part it looks like M3 Evos, Porsches, TVRs etc.

No matter what place you come though, I'm sure it'll be a blast and a great chance to see some really quick cars doing their thing.

Good luck to you dude :D

Sounds like a blast to me, you get to drive your e30 "eyeballs out", on track, against some formidable opponents it must be said 8O

Look at it this way, they will all be 5hitting themselves that a 20 year old motor is going to beat them, and I'm sure that every now and then you will get a few scalps

Do it, do it! I undertook a Masarati and a brand new M3 in me ol' 325 two days ago so anything is possible! :D

They were religiously sticking to the 40 mph signs and I knew where the next speed camera was, though :o:

There's a bloke round here with an Evo who competes and that is absolutely rapid.

Any 327i that can beat him round a track would be some hero.

Pretty sure this is the one:

yeh they're all mainly straightline heroes unfortunately

may i also point out that you have to pay for every round up front before the yr starts, so it does cost quite a lot..... so when spending so much (arguably more than any 327 is worth) whats the point you may aswell got get a more capable car with suspension that wasnt designed in the 60s and a shell that doesnt flex when a fatty sits in it :P

In fairness I think it's cool that you're doing Time Attack. You're not going to be competitive with most of the stuff out there, but it is a good opportunity to be able to drive your car at full tilt, unlike trackdays where you have to pootle around, get a written invitation to overtake, not outbrake people bla bla bla. Not to mention the black flags for drifting when you're actually just getting a bit of oversteer.

oh and they'll still black flag you!

The PBMW championship does look like a good crack and it's actualy bumper to bumper racing unlike Time Attack which is about nailing a fast lap IIRC. Only drawback with PBMW is the lack of outright speed in the cars, but I'm sure the competitiveness makes up for this.

I was talking to an ex PBMW racer and he wasn't impressed.. It isn't as cheap as it sounds as there can be a lot of sillyness apparently, resulting in repair work being needed or reshell..

He now does TTRS iirc and loves it

Guys,
Firstly I would like to say thanks for your concern, but I'm a big boy and am capable of doing quite well in category (N/A under 3000cc). My car was Jodie Halse's from Munich legends (his race car for 7 years), the car is just about to go in for another suspension upgrade (to GAZ Gold 500lbs front and 300lbs rear).
The car is already faster than pretty much anything, the only things that gives me a headache on a track are those Caterfields!
I'll keep you all updated interms of results.

Daniel, does the car have to be road legal for Time Attack? I just wonder with regards to putting a race car out there.

enjoy the racing mate, as a part time track instructor in Caterhams i can safely say if they are the only car that worries you then that is a great thing as they will beat just about any road going car round a track.

We have a similar series here called the CRC (circuit racers club) only one car has beat my lap and that was an endurance race prepped GT3, and at the end of the day the most important part of a race car is the squishy bit somwhere in the middle. You should get your car in for a Daytime MOT, that way you dont need certain lights thus a great weight saver.

enjoy the racing!! and even better everyone expects you to loose, so when you beat a few they will have a hard time making excuses in the pub afterwards, you just say '' well i am in a 20 year old car''
