Well, the story goes like this okay....

This week, my dad decided to take the roof off the garage, as it leaks. "Great" we all thought! "somewhere dry to store our projects" (my dad has a Daimler project car too). Well, we started it on saturday, continued with it Sunday and it pished down sunday night and Monday morning! GREAT! SOAKED E30 and SOAKED Daimler!!!! My cabin isnt even waterproof, as i am yet to install the sunroof seals! Anyway, today (tuesday) my dad decided the cars were better off outside the garage, as he was cutting the roof beams down. Excellent i thought - 'Safe Sport'

Anyways, dad cuts the roof beams down and not 1 splinter is shed onto my lovely paintwork. I get back from town and my dad wants to push the car back in. Now, my drive is on a slope, but its shallow enough to push a 6pot in on your own. My mum on the other hand isnt happy that "I'm Fine!" as i told her, and she starts pushing the car with me.....

"NOT ON THE FUKKING SPOILER!!!!!!"....... Split paint all up my spoiler..... she meant well, but.... mupet!!!!
Ive told her dozens of times where to push a car from, as she ALWAYS insists on helping me move my disabled car about, even when she knows i can manage on my own.

Anyway, the moral of the story is NEVER, EVER, EVEEEERRRRRR let your mother/girlfriend/daughter/mistress/aunty (delete as appliccable) near your E30, otherwise you'll end up with fukked paintwork, or, even worse, a fukked e30.

Im off to cry now over my broken paintwork! :x

we shall never understand women and they will never ever understand us blokes and the undying passion we have for our cars, why do they not see or appreciate the time and effort we lavish on these beasts?

My missus loves her 325 touring, but she has an incredible knack of finding all the weak points.
Came in tonight to find the glass from the driver's door mirror (intact), lying on the kitchen worktop!!!

i also marked the paintwork this afternoon whilst removing concrete blocks from a wall. a bt about 6" square hit the ground from 15feet and bounced in the wrong direction. the bit i marked cant be seen when the tech 1 val;ance is on, so thats 1 saving grace i guess.

Spot on analysis there Scott mate but she does sort of understand why I've done what I have to it, tho she has mentioned the word "obsession" a few times!!!

I'd be calling up the garage who did your spray job to find out why the paint split off the spoiler. A decent paint job should withstand the force from pushing the car unless of course you're talking about the paint cracking due to flexing of the spoiler itself.

one of the two ladies in my life is very much a e30 lover, when ever we are off out she demands we go in Daddies car and always insists on sitting up front. I tend to let her, which pees of the misses, ow well.

She can some times get a little carried away when we work on the car, especially when it comes to cleaning, I asked her to wipe the wheels off with the sponge, gave it to her, walked round the other side of the car, then I could here a scratching sound so legged it round to find she binned the sponge and started to use a stone to clean the wheels  !!

She'll be a petrol head I'm sure, a speed freak in the making, she loves the acceleration forces and demands I "drive faster daddy!" always makes me chuckle.

Anyway I too would not let the misses near my car, she has driven it, but I was there at the time. I do all the mech work on both of our cars, could not dream of asking her to change a bulb, let along push my car into a gararge.

Sorry to hear it scott, scratched it before it even saw the light of day.

Got the alternator by the way, cheers dude. Mark.

The GF is prolly more attached to the thing than I am :P , so (un?)fortunately no financial restraints there!

Only problem is that she really wants to have an 850CSi aswell, which is perfectly natural ofcourse, but only even thinking about the costs of running this thing makes me all

Anyway, history shows that she usually eventually gets what she wants (from me), so the upside is that I'll probably have an 850CSi one day
