There's bits of both I like.... The new classified forces people to be more specific about the items they are selling and it cuts out the random chatter in the background

Unfortunately it's a bit less user friendly for people searching through it and now it's sort of like ebay - you have to try different sections and filters to locate something....when it fills up, a 325i touring (coincidentally what I'm looking for) could come under 325, touring or other which means you have to search all 3 to make sure you cover it all..... the parts sections are a good idea though, but I've already seen parts in the E30 section >.<......

Dunno which I like overall, but I definitely preferred the old when it came to browsing for random stuff to buy that I don't need.........

Problem with the 'old style' for sale/wanted section was the random chatter and silly comments that it attracted. New style will take some getting used to,may be better as 'cars for sale' 'parts for sale' 'parts wanted' rather than the headings chosen. The need to PM the OP instead of posting an 'interested' post will attract a lot of PM's that may get missed.

I prefer the old style (easier to use) but do like the fact it will cut out all the irrelevant crap that people seemed to post on other peoples for sale threads.

The rest of the zone is

I'm really interested in the out come of this poll :D

Somethings work others don't, you never know until you try.

There's no doubt about it the classified section does need work, but you have to start somewhere.

I have a lot of issues to sort / fix so please bear with me, but if we can all work together and tell me what these problems are I'm sure the site will run like a dream :D

I think it's a step in the right direction, but perhaps the categories are a little too specific...

I'm watching as stuff is appearing in the wrong sections all over the place... and I'm second guessing if I should have put my wanted ad in the 'wanted' section instead of the 'e30s, wanted' section......

Ideally if everyone posted in exactly the correct sections with price, location etc. (compulsory fields?) this classified section would be fantastic, but at the moment I guess it's that bit too complicated and so it gets left blank/default...

Before I get a bad reputation for being negative, I really do like the new zone, it looks great, the member's rides and photo galleries are ace and the classifieds section has the potential to be amazing... hope that helps :p

Hardly any of the cars are actually cars.
I'm sure it'll be fine once people learn to put things in the right places.

Problem is that you can't actually post ads in the other sections others than in the Cars for sale and body trim/bodykits catogories

Just tried this myself.

In that case, I think the new style will be better once it works properly. I just like the idea of being able to browse a section for Alpina cars. I don't have to check back to see what's there in case I miss a thread, or run through a big list of other components and parts. I can just click-in, see the Alpinas, and view them.

I'm not a fan of it at the moment but its like everything else I'm willing to give it a go just not sure about the fact if im wanting to advertise a car as breaking what section do you put it in? also i reckon the wanted should be kept separate also the o/p should be able to edit it so he can confirm what items have been sold or what he has got if its a wanted ad..

example i place a wanted add for a drivers wing and a bootlid.. if i get the boot lid i can edit it to say I've got a boot lid but still needing a drivers wing.. would save me getting needles pms that i would need to respond to saying I've got one...

just my 2p worth

If it aint broke...i voted old style.

It was a lot easier to find what you wanted quickly whilst allowing you to browse other stuff at the same time.

The rest of the site is great! :thumb:

I prefer the old section, sections for specific cars thats a lot browse through.

the old one all you had to do was run your eyes on the left till something got your eye and in you went.

but let the new one run for a month or 2 to see if people get the hang of it.

But the new site is great, nice work guys.

Old style all the way. Not sure I can be bothered to navigate away from the general forum really. Before it was just natural to click inot parts for sale then on to cars for sale as you navigated down the list of forum titles. Now I have to actually enter into a complete new section, away from the forum. Therefore sellers are not going to cash in on the "surfers", only actual people wanting to buy a certain part. Theres been occasions in the past where I've clicked on the next forum, which happens to be parts for sale, and ended up buying something!

I really like the Latest Classifieds section on the homepage.

Comments on the Wanted section often used to lead to parts being sold to people other than the original poster, (due to location etc) or other parts being offered or the addition of more information, pictures etc.

The new layout is very professional and ensures the threads are not cluttered up with armchair analysis. Change = good. No point living in the past and moaning about it!
