As some may know i am looking at a set up for my sport. not much to choose from here but the other day i found a shop selling Boston equipment. has anyone heard of it? the sub was 10 or 12 inch GT2 series and looked ok, but i am looking for a deep base rather then punchy base - i.e i listen to reggae/Santana/dub/trip hop rather then dance.
the sub will be in a small(ish) ported enclosure.
also any advise on their amps would be good too.
it looked like good stuff, but never judge a book and all that..

Very reputable american brand, they make some extremely good kit. Not sure about the model of sub you mention but i would bet good money it wont dissappoint.
Have a gander at they're new prototype sub here:

Boston acoustics speakers are great, Ive never heard thier subs but have used thier full range and comp speakers before. http://mobile.bostonacoustics.com/car/
I use a rockford fosgate set up, a small (60ix) rockford amp bridged powering 2 12" 8ohm rockford subs running in parallel. The box I have was designed to give tight & deep bass. The subs both sit facing the same direction so the front sub is sealed by the rear one but the rear of the box is fitted with a tuned port. Its all abit 2 technical for me but thats why I paid for the box
I listen to hip hop, trip hop, electro and dub so would recommend you check out rockford fosgate stuff.

boston never tryed the car audio stuff , there pc stuff sound system went bad for money. i'd go for JBL as its tryed and tested. you will have to adjust the box to suite the sub. Rockford Fosgate they dont over rate there sub they under rate them! installed 2x 12" Rockford fosgate P2 in an sealed 2.5cuft box in a saxo and they pound! the bass is tight and deep.
