i would recommend 272 mate, although the 288 one will probbaly gain a few more brake, the idle will be very lumpy due to high long lifts of valves.

hope this helps

272 doesn't mean anything though - do you mean 272/272 or 284/272?

on a more serious note now, Schrick 272-272Ԛº duration, 11 mm lift. Smooth idle. Best when used with performance chip. Dual valve springs required. this cam can also be used on auto's

Schrick 288-288Ԛº duration, 11.4mm of lift. Lumpy idle limits application to manual transmission models only. Works best with performance chip, free flow intake and exhaust systems. Korman Dual Valve Springs and titanium retainers required. obviously the 288 will produce more bhp but is really only for track use, 272 is perfect for road use, hope this helps you a little better????

My point was that if you say 272, you could mean the 272/272 OR the 272/284, which several Zone contributors use... why only compare the two extremes?

why dont you ask the man who posted the question instead of me? i aint comparing nowt mate, the question was which is the better cam between the above two, i gave my opinion and your entitled to yours so if you have anything to contribute towards helping DIESEL who posted the question help him!!, cant really understand what the problem is, i personally have a 272 meaning a 272/272 and obviously if i was saying the other one (284) i would have written 284. how constructive is the conversation now??? :hammer: :hammer:

This cam has 288 degrees duration and 11.4mm lift. This cam is not really a good choice for "street" engines. It makes very good power, but will affect the idle quite a lot. Great for track cars with higher compression and injection mods. this is a must for rallying dude :thumb:
