I have bought an electric sunroof conversion and interior rear view mirror with map lights. Both have the proper BM cables attached. Can anybody help me with where these wires connect ? I have removed the glove box and there is a big set of connectors there, but I don't have wiring diagram, so don't know what colours do what ...... I think I need to get a cd or destruction manual from e-bay ! Many thanks.

the green/blue power feed wire to the electric roof plugs into socket Q on the accessories panel at the back of the glove box.
Q is the pin immediately to the right of the bottom pin of the four pin radio socket, just about in the middle of the panel.
On UK cars, if you have OE electric windows, there will be a white/black wire plugged in here, and a red/yellow from the top left pin both going to a relay clipped to the left of the socket. There will be two flying leads coming from this relay, both green/blue. One is for the windows and the other for the roof.
If you don't have this relay, the roof will only operate with the ignition on, and not with the front doors open as well.
As for the map light, they are supposed to connect to the purple/green wire that goes to the check control module from fuse 6, but a better way is to fish a piece of wire over from one of the interior lights and connect to this. You can then arrange the lights to come on with the door switches.
The wire can be fished over by using a piece of stiff wire pushed in through the interior light hole and the roof motor inspection psnel.
The wire will not catch in the roof mechanism.
Hope all this makes sense and helps.

Many thanks. Did the conversion this weekend, and all OK (ish). I actually found a wire under the dash that has connector on it, after testing, this works the roof fine. When I finished and put all the trim back I found out it is perm live, so sunroof works with no keys in ignition (D'oh !) I will re-wire it to the correct place you mentioned, and try not to cut corners in future !

I've never paid that much attention to the sockets behind the glove box so i'm not sure how you did it, but my roof works when the doors are open with the ignition off the same as the windows.

Then you have the arrangement I've described above.Martinaston wrote:I've never paid that much attention to the sockets behind the glove box so i'm not sure how you did it, but my roof works when the doors are open with the ignition off the same as the windows.

Same colour as the wire coming from the motor, brown/blue if I remember correctly. That is the only reason I tested it and used it. When I saw it, I thought I can't be that lucky ........
