HELLO TO YOU ALL
I,M NEW TO YOUR SITE AND THIS IS DUE TO MYSELF WANTING TO TAKE UP SPRINT RACING WITH AN OLD 86 325I WHICH HAS BEEN FULLY PREPED FOR TRACK DAYS & SPRINTS. THE ENGINE IS STILL STOCK & IV'E NOTICED A LOT OF YOU CHANGE THE BLOCKS IN YOU CARS BUT, WHICH IS THE BEST FOR SPRINT DAYS???????????

HI DOM, AND WELCOME :D

I CANT SPEAK FOR ANY ONE ELSE BUT MY HEARING AID IS WORKING FINE TODAY(lose the caps lock)

I think the best thing would be to have a go at a few hillclimbs/ sprints and trackdays first, maybe wait untill you have blown up your current engine :D

Have a look through this section to get a feel of the money you have to spend versus the power you want. Theres loads of engines to choose from for the future, have some fun with it now

stick with the engine you have,
the 6 pot is a wee bit heavy but, makes good power.
to make 170 hp from a 4pot would cost money.
stick a turbo on the m20 and all the power would more than make up for the better handling of the 4 pot.

you could fit a 525e bottom end and get a 2.7 :D
