Alpina B6 in a nutshell, please.

Both lovely cars, and I can see the merits in each of them. I'm actually leaning towards the chromie..

second gen M30 motor of the 80s with 3430cc
gas flowed valve head
hot Alpina cam
10.6:1 compression
Mahle forged pistons
tubular manifold
standard 3.5 forged crank
M635CSi conrods
rev limited raised to 6000rpm
ECU remapped (also a switch to let ECU know whether you running on 95 Ron unleaded or 98 Ron super unleaded).
the B6 has the same motor as the B10.
Rav the two pictures provided by Barry have the front B6 badge in the correct place.

all but the M3 LSD is 3.25 not 2.79.

Blitz how can you say a b6 is better than a b6s? that's garbage?

I think the B6 makes more sense then a a B6s because the B6s being based on a M3 loses that wonderful S14 engine. Didn't they say that its a "different animal" to the standard M3 in one of those articles.. I love the B6s but I would prefer to have a B6. A B6 would be my dream E30 even over an M3.

the B6S still has better handling than the B6, and both came as lhd.

for me the chromie B6 would be the ultimate (also the added benefit of it being non catalyst).

I know that the e21 B6 rear quarters didn't open as Alpina's experiment revealed having them open would twist the chasis, i dont know if this was still the case with the e30s but every b6 pics i've seen didnt have the rear quarter opening option if such an option existed or they were deleted by Alpina.
