Are they are bit much for general road use? Car will be being suitably abused, but it still sees the road.. Clutch in question is a 6 paddle clutch if that makes a difference..

If you aren't making lots more torque than standard, I'd stick with the standard clutch.

the hydraulic e30 clutch makes a 6 paddle more usable everyday especially when used with a standard cover. it does in my application anyway.

If your goning to be doing a lot of track days and such i would do it, i used to drive alot of old shitters and lorrys so doesnt really bother me.
If i were you i would get get a sachs racing plate and a new stock disc, but its £££, you will get more of a stock feel but will hold alot better than stock, maybe even better than a 6 puk with stock plate.

Dan, this is the place i bought mine from, just looked yours up, and with a stock disc will hold 530nm of torque, more than what you want to throw at it. :D
http://www.pure-pf.com/webshop/ppf_webs ... cts_id=629
works out as £250

Well a new disc is more ££ than this new paddle..

OE M5 disc is £200 from the dealer!!

Hmm.. Do I plump for the new paddle and the cover, or just the cover with my current disc?!

Also, how the hell do you go about understanding the site to buy that?! Is the VAT the same?

Oh, and if you do go for the plate, i wouldnt bother with a 6 puk disc unless your going F.I, 530nm is more than enough for any NA S50. :)

Good point about the paddle I guess.. It's just tempting now Ive been offered it  Could get it incase I choose to do anything daft 8O To be fair though, my M5 clutch plate has only done 5k on a M50, so hardly abused too badly..

Cheers for the e-mail addy, I'll drop him a line

Sachs Race Engineering do a range of BMW OEM fitment upgrade clutches, from torsion damped organic facing, through to rigid sintered metal puck/paddle clutch. Maybe they'll have something in the correct size for you.

it was a 240mm clutch disc..

Ive ordered the Uprated Sachs one from pure-pf, so probably just reuse the stock M5 clutch disc
