i have been reading alot about the conversion and the mechanicals and fitting arnt a problem, its the wiring im starting to get concerned about!
i have a compleate C reg 325i 3 door and my 1990 4 door 316i. can anyone offer any help on the conversion im planning especially about the wiring!!!

easiest option is upgrade the engine to M1.3 so you need a facelift loom and triger setup fitted, then she'll pretty much just plug in dude

given you location, try Dave @ Fritzs bits

what is a m1.3 and triger setup?????

m1.3 is motronic 1.3 which is the management system fitted to post facelift cars.

Your C reg 325 is an earlier engine which uses L-Jetronic which is an old mechanical injection system.

If you fit the inlet manifold, injectors, ECU, AFM and engine wiring loom from a later (post 1987) 325 then it will be plug and play like Ant said.

Trigger wheel setup goes on the front of the engine, it's a toothed wheel with 1 tooth missing and a sensor to tell the ECU when TDC is.

Cool i understand all that perfectly!

One question will the trigger wheel setup and knock sensor on the Creg engine be ok??
Also i have access to a scraped E reg 320i would the engine loom and inlet manafold be ok to use????? obviosly i would need the 325i, ECU, AFM and INJECTORS
